The Welsh Assembly Government and Estyn held the National Education Conference - Raising School Standards on 14th February 2011 at the Mecure Holland House Hotel, Cardiff.
The conference aimed to provide leaders in the field of education the opportunity to discuss the action required to raise standards of education in Wales.
MultiStream were contracted to deliver the on demand content by the Welsh Assembly Government, so that the content of the conference can be viewed online as an archive of the proceedings.
MultiStream created a bilingual website which included an index page that links to each of the nine presentations, delivered in Welsh and English.
To support the presentations the speakers used PowerPoint slides, that are now ‘simulcast’ alongside the video feed, with the slides automatically advancing for the user exactly as if they were in the presentation.
MultiStream have also provided indexing functionality so that the viewer can select a slide they wish to view, and the video player advances to the slide selected and plays the corresponding video.
Saville Audio Visual provided the AV services for the conference and provided MultiStream with an audio and video feed of the three camera shoot.
The on demand content was made available within 48 hours of the conference finishing and can be found on the Welsh Assembly Government website.
