Normally from a venue in London, each meeting consists of as series of keynote presentations from key business stakeholders – with content typically consisting of video, audio and PowerPoint slides. For some presentations, MultiStream also mixed in live instructional software demonstrations by the speaker so viewers could see specific demonstrations.

In addition to the live encoding and delivery aspects, MultiStream used their industry contacts to organise the content production of these, which included a vision mixed two camera coverage, scan converted PC content and live audio production.

The webcast was delivered live in Windows Media format and the stream was delivered in multi-bit rate to offer a range of viewing speeds such that we were sure to be able to deliver the session to all overseas employees. Viewers watched the live streams in a variety of situations ranging from single field staff watching on a laptop, to ‘group’ viewings via video projector and public address audio.

"Whilst this was as a known and limited audience, we were keen to make sure the service was as robust and reliable as possible. We used multiple encoders, delivering their feeds to across different networks to remove possible single points of failure – the global content delivery network then made sure that this availability and performance was maintained to the viewer." Ruth Thomas, Operations Director, MultiStream.
