Historic Royal Palaces
Within the grounds of the Tower of London, MultiStream were commissioned by the Historic Royal Palaces to deliver the live and on demand webcast of the Installation of General Sir Richard Dannatt as 159th Constable of the Tower of London.
Taking place within the walls of the infamous fortress, the ceremony culminated in General Dannatt being handed the gold master-keys of the Tower by the Lord Chamberlain, on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, symbolising the Constable‘s responsibility for this royal palace.
The ceremony took place on Tower Green in front of an invited audience. The troops that were on parade will include Nijmegen Company, Grenadier Guards; 1st Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers; The Honourable Artillery Company; The Adjutant General’s Corps (Royal Military Police); and The Band of the Army Air Corps.
MultiStream provided a live webcast of the ceremony which included a four camera shoot, live vision mix with live voice over and also pre-recorded content filmed by the Press department of the Historic Royal Palaces. The hour long live webcast included the build up to the ceremony with the band and soldiers marching into position seamlessly brought together with a voice over provided by Lucy Worsley, Chief Curator of the Historic Royal Palaces and Tom Sharpe, retired Chief Yeoman Warden. The ceremony was broadcast live and an on demand version was provided an hour after the ceremony had finished.
Piccadilly Broadcast Hire provided the AV services for the event and provided MultiStream with live mixed video and audio for the live webcast.
This is the first time the ceremony, which is performed every 10 years, has been live webcast with a worldwide audience of approximately 700 viewers.
