e-Crime Wales Summit 2010
For the third year running, MultiStream was contracted by the Welsh Assembly Government to undertake the live webcast transmission of the sixth annual e-Crime Wales Summit, which took place at the Celtic Manor, Newport, South Wales. BBC television presenter Jamie Owen hosted the days events which included twelve presentations with simulcast slides delivered as a live webcast though out the day.
Over 70% of the delegates were from the private sector, with other attendees from public sector, law enforcement and academia.
The presentations included presentations from world leading e-Security experts from international companies such as Microsoft, North Wales Police, Orthus, Spamhaus and Verizon Business. They gave up-to date information on the latest threats and solutions together with valuable advice on handling payments safely online.
The live webcast was watched by a global audience and is available as on demand content on the e-Crime Wales website.
The Celtic Manor's high spec Broadband upgrade for the Ryder Cup gave MultiStream 20mb of bandwidth to deliver the primary and back up streams, thus providing resilient encoding for reliable live coverage.
MultiStream delivered the proceedings simultaneously in windows media format with the live video / audio being synchronised with the ‘pushing’ of the PowerPoint slides, geared to giving the virtual attendee as close to an ‘in-the-room’ experience as possible. Multiple bit rates or speeds of video were provided seamlessly to only give the viewer a ‘size’ of video that their equipment and video connection would support.
Content for the live webcast was produced by Push 4, a leading audio visual company. MultiStream seamlessly integrated with Push 4’s Production team using the main video TX from the three camera crew manned by a team from Push 4.
