MultiStream was born of the identified need of a specialist webcasting provider – one that was not just an ‘add on’ to a production or events company, or indeed an IT company, but one that had a suitably firm footing in both disciplines. As such IT professional Richard Baker and production expert Ruth Thomas joined forces to establish MultiStream.
Richard Baker, Technical Director
After studying Computer Science and working for Compaq’s Access Solutions division, Richard was involved in setting up the first ISPs in Israel and Greece. In the mid nineties Richard then established a leading web development agency, which grew to offer a specialist hosting division.
Richard first began experimenting with streaming in 1998, and delivered pioneering audio webcasting trials for local radio, as well as the live delivery of Radio 1’s high profile ‘fringe’ festival in 2000.
Richard provides technical leadership for MultiStream and thrives on the challenge of making a live webcast a reality from any location.
Ruth Thomas, Operations Director
After graduating with a degree in Music Technology, Ruth began her career in the corporate video sector as a sound and then camera assistant before progressing in to an editing and post production role.
She then established the ‘link’ with new media, and was appointed as a New Media Producer for a leading financial production agency, during which she spent five years producing live and on demand webcasts for high profile FTSE 100 institutions including Barclays, RBS and Sainsburys.
Ruth provides the production edge of MultiStream, and is responsible for the production, project management and slick delivery of all of our commissions.
